This Month’s Featured Plant

tsp11 This Month’s Featured PlantEven though you can’t plant right now, it’s a good exercise to look outside and think about what would look good.  Then you can plan what to plant in the spring, for some visual interest next winter.

As there’s not much happening outside for plant life, you’ll probably find yourself thinking about evergreens.

What about those tight spots where you would like a little winter colour?  If you don’t have much space, but you would really like a tree, consider a Columnar Blue Spruce, (Picea pungens ‘Fastigiata’).

It’s a hardy spruce, with that nice blue tint to the needles, and it grows about 10’ tall while only spreading to about 3’ wide.

Could be just the thing when you want something more dramatic than a dwarf shrub.
